R.I.P. to the muhfuckin’ legend DJ Screw mane! I remember when my nigga D-Mac first put me on to that Chapter 182, that shit really blew my mind & i was being exposed to a whole nother realm of music. There aint nothin’ like hoppin’ in the slab, po’n up, & sparkin a blunt to a Screw tape. Just mobbin’ & ride’n w/o a care in the world. Screw was a master-level turntablist and a record collector of the first degree. When he slowed down a track in a cloud of cannabis inspiration, it ended up permanently altering the entire hip hop scene in Houston, and arguably in the South as a whole. Fans would wait outside his house for the newest Screwtape - of which he made hundreds - invariably recorded on a gray Maxell cassette tape. He definitely was before his time & left us way too early. He’s currently one of the biggest influences in hip hop music, so let’s give him his praise & respect for what he’s done for the game. I thank you Screw from playa to playa. 100.
